Before it gets here though, we have one more summer-like day to contend with on Wednesday. A warm front will lift through the area tonight, allowing our winds to turn to the southwest. That will usher in warm (mid 80s) and sticky air for Wednesday. A cold front, which is the leading edge of the late week high, will advance late day. That will spark off a few showers, downpours, and thunderstorms. For now, it looks like most of those will stay North and West of Boston. A few will be strong to severe.
Behind that front, our high pressure takes over for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Cooler (low to mid 70s) and bone dry air will sink down from Canada on a northwest wind. That will ensure plenty of sun to close out the week and start the weekend.
The timing of this high is impeccable as there are lots of big events in Hingham, and around the South Shore, this week. Among those events: proms, graduations, and of course the graduation parties.
Hingham High’s Prom is Thursday Night at Granite Links in Quincy. Skies will be mostly sunny for both pre-prom pictures and the event itself. It will be windy, and temperatures will be around 70 degrees late in the day.
The Hingham Class of 2011 then Graduates at 5 PM on Saturday. Expect plenty more sunshine, and temperatures still near 70 degrees. Quite pleasant, and perhaps even cool for some!
Our next chance of a few showers comes on Sunday.
