I would argue that we’re coming off one of the best Julys we’ve seen in a while. Almost every weekend, with the exception of a few storms one Saturday morning, featured perfect summer weather. Unfortunately, that trend might be broken as we look toward the first weekend of August. The weekend won’t be a total loss; more like a split decision.
Saturday will feature temperatures in the middle and upper 70s. It will also be quite humid. There will be some sunshine, particularly early in the day, but clouds will tend to increase by afternoon. This looks like the better of the two weekend days for outdoor activities, including the Pan Mass Challenge which kicks off in Sturbridge and Wellesley.
Sunday is not looking as nice. An area of disturbed weather will bring in periods of rain during the day. Some of that rain will come in the form of downpours. So, it may not be raining every minute of the day, but my sense is that the overall feeling of the day will be a wet one. Again, expect it to be humid with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. PMC riders should plan accordingly.
