Minor Coastal Flooding Possible Wednesday

Astronomically high tides will combine with gusty northeast winds on Wednesday to create pockets of minor coastal flooding.

Winds along the coast Wednesday will range from 15 to 25 MPH. At the same time, high tides will rise to near or slightly above 12 feet thanks to Tuesday’s new moon. The combination will lead to minor coastal flooding, especially during the midday high tide Wednesday.

This is unlikely to cause damage, but typically vulnerable roads and neighborhoods will likely suffer some splash-over.

It will remain breezy at the coast Thursday, but it won’t be as gusty as Wednesday.
