Leonids Peak Tonight

Lingering clouds will dim the sun for a time Friday, but clearing will gradually take place during the afternoon. That clearing will continue into the evening, which is also when the Leonid Meteor Shower peaks.

The Leonids, which appear to radiate out from the constellation Leo the Lion, will be most visible away from city lights. In those dark areas 10-15 meteors per hour are possible between midnight tonight and dawn tomorrow morning.

You’ll need to bundle up if you want to catch some meteors though. Lows tonight will drop to around 30.
