Coldest Temperatures in Nearly a Year

Freezing TemperaturesOvernight temperatures bottomed out in the single digits across Greater Boston, providing the coldest shot of air in nearly a year.

The low temperature Thursday morning reached 7 degrees in Boston, and 8 degrees in Hingham. That’s the coldest both locations have been since lows reached 6 degrees back on January 15 of last year.

Many areas north and west of Boston slipped below zero, including Orange and much of Southern New Hampshire.

High temperatures on Thursday will struggle to reach the mid 20s, but we’ll return to more seasonable mid and upper 30s by Friday and the weekend.
