Today’s snow totaled 3.2″ at Logan Airport in Boston, which is the highest total of any storm so far this season. As expected, most totals North and West of Boston fell in the 2-5″ range, with coastal snowfall totals more in the 0-2″ range. Just 0.8″ fell along the water’s edge in Hingham, 1.3″ fell in North Weymouth, and 1.0″ dusted Scituate. The map at left shows more totals.
A more substantial storm will take shape offshore Thursday night, but will largely stay offshore. However, it looks like a little snow will graze extreme Southeastern Massachusetts very early Friday morning. Cape Cod and the Islands stands the best chance of an accumulating snow, but a touch of light snow may even reach up onto the South Shore.
I’ll have more details on the storm, and how much snow you can expect, on Thursday. Stay tuned.
