A developing coastal storm will scoot south of New England overnight into early Friday morning, bringing a touch of light snow to extreme Southeastern Massachusetts.
The bulk of the snow will stay to our south, thanks to a cold front dropping down from Canada today. That front will usher in much colder weather for Friday, when highs will only make the upper 20s!
However, a finger of light snow will reach onto the Cape and Islands during the pre-dawn and early morning hours of Friday. A general 1-3″ of snow can be expected on the mid and outer Cape, as well as the Islands. More like a dusting-1″ is expected from about Plymouth down through the upper Cape.
Here on the South Shore I can’t rule out a few flurries or a little dusting, but I expect the real accumulation to stay to our south.
Temperatures will rebound into the 40s by the weekend.
