Monday morning will dawn cold and bright, but skies will become overcast by afternoon. After lunch, light snow will spread in from the west. That light snow will likely continue through the evening commute. While it won’t be a lot of snow, the timing will likely slow down the afternoon drive.
From Boston south, including Hingham and the South Shore, expect 0-2″ of snow by about dinner time. From Boston north and west, more like 1-3″ will fall.
After dinner, warmer air will filter in aloft. That will switch the snow over to freezing rain for a time. Of course that will result in icy travel in spots Monday night.
The precipitation will end as plain rain overnight Monday, with temperatures warming into the 40s by Tuesday.
