For the past 24 hours local police and fire officials have been fielding hundreds of calls for help. Whether its an accident, a downed tree, a medical emergency, or a power outage 911 calls spike during major storms.
Just last week I was given the opportunity to tour the South Shore Regional Emergency Communications Center located in Hingham. The new dispatch center, chock full of the latest technology, dispatches crews in Hingham, Hull, Norwell, and Cohasset. Each town was hard hit in the blizzard.
Take a few minutes to see what happens when you dial 911, and how help arrives at your door in minutes. The video is also airing on HCAM-TV in Hingham.
