Sun remains scarce this week, thanks in part to a storm taking shape in the Mid-Atlantic. While the bulk of that storm will miss Southern New England, it will get close enough to build seas and increase winds.
Winds will start to pick up most noticeably Wednesday afternoon and evening. Northeast winds will remain strong, gusting between 40-50 MPH at the coast, right into Thursday. The winds will produce waves up to 20 feet offshore.
The strong winds, rough seas, and high tides in the 10-10.5 foot range on Thursday may lead to pockets of minor coastal flooding in typical vulnerable areas.
